CULINARY EVENTS

We are now offering in-house culinary events throughout the year. These events typically run from 6 – 8pm in the evening and showcase the power, performance and control our customers are looking for in their new kitchen appliances. Here are some of the demos you can see:

  • Chickens roasting on the La Cornue Flamberge Rotisserie.
  • BBQ burger sliders cooking in the Wolf Convection/Steam oven – juiciest burgers we’ve every made.
  • Freshly baked cookies or cinnamon buns out of the Thermador 48″Professional Gas Range.
  • Frozen egg rolls that are cooked to perfection within 4 minutes inside the GE Advantium oven.
  • Roasted Chickens in the Jenn-Air Convection/Steam oven.
  • Freshly made pizza straight out of the AGA Total Control cooker.
  • How the 4 oven AGA cooker can cook a meal for 10 with ease and control you’ve never imagined.
  • Bacon fresh off the Thermador StarBurner cook top.

We also offer fresh coffee, orange juice and other refreshments during each presentation.

OUR CULINARY TEAM

Chef Dave Ryan

With roots firmly planted on the West Coast, celebrated Chef, Cooking Instructor and IKA World Culinary Olympics – Grand Gold Recipient, Dave Ryan brings precision cooking in alignment with a splash of fearless food fare.

With a menu comprised of fresh, locally sourced ingredients, you’ll explore savvy tips and techniques to bake, blend, broil, chop, simmer and taste food as it was meant to be served, and gain the conviction to reclaim your kitchen with Sub-Zero and Wolf Appliances.


Chef Trevor Bird

Trevor Bird began his foray into the culinary world as a teenager. Cooking is all he knows and thank goodness for all the eaters amongst us, he knows it extremely well. His career led him into acclaimed kitchens such as Ottawa’s National Arts Centre, Jean George’s MARKET, and Daniel Boulud’s Lumiere.

In 2011, Trevor secured his rising star status by placing runner up against some of Canada’s greatest chefs in “Top Chef Canada Season 2.” This was certainly a defining moment in his culinary career.

In 2012, Trevor created Fable, his own restaurant in which he practices his passion for locally focused ingredients and showcases British Columbia’s regional bounty in all of the menu’s dishes. Fable is the perfect medium for Trevor to remain true to his philosophy of farm to table cuisine.


Chef Poyan Danesh

Chef Poyan has been heavily involved in the BC culinary scene since gradutating top of his class at VCC. Poyan is currently Culinary Director at Ocean Mama Seafood.

Named 2013 BC Chef of the year, he was also one of 4 chefs that represented Canada in the World Culinary Olympics in Germany in 2012, placing 4th in the world. He was also honoured with the position of Captain of the Olympic Culinary Team of BC where he led them to a gold in their category, and 4th place finish at the World Culinary Olympics in Germany of 2008. Poyan was also a member of the Culinary Team Canada from 2004 competing twice in Luxembourg, Basel and in Chicago with a second place finish, winning 6 gold medals in total.
